What Is Pinball?
Pinball is an arcade game that tests your reactions and timing. Launch a steel ball, use the flippers to keep it in play, and score by hitting bumpers and targets. Physical Pinball machines vary in layout, scoring, and rewards. Learn more in Wikipedia’s Pinball overview.
Infunx brings Pinball to your browser as a single player game. Control your launch strength and both flippers to score as many points as possible before your balls run out.
How to Play Pinball
- Charge your launch. Hold the Launch button, then release to fire. Holding longer increases power until it reaches its maximum. On a keyboard, hold and release the Space bar.
- Control the flippers. Hold the left or right control area to raise that flipper, then release to lower it. You can also use the arrow keys or A and D. Both flippers work simultaneously.
- Aim for targets. Watch the ball’s position and time your shots to light all three targets at the top.
- Keep playing. After losing a ball, wait for the next one to load and launch again. Your Pinball game ends when all three balls are used.
If a weak launch returns to the launch lane before entering the main playfield, you can try again without losing a ball.
How Does Scoring Work in Pinball?
On this Pinball table, hitting a round bumper earns 100 points, triggering a side slingshot earns 50 points, and lighting an unlit top target earns 200 points.
Light all three targets for a 1,000 point bonus and 12 seconds of double base points. The targets then reset. Completing another set refreshes the timer, but the multiplier never exceeds two. The 1,000 point bonus stays unchanged. The timer runs only during play on the main playfield.
Each new ball also gets one save during its first 5 seconds on the main playfield. Lose it within that window and you can launch it again without using another ball. A saved ball does not receive a new protection window.
How Is Infunx Pinball Different From a Physical Machine?
Infunx Pinball preserves the core experience of launching, flipping, and scoring through collisions. Holding a button replaces pulling a physical plunger, while touch controls or keyboard keys operate the flippers.
This Pinball adaptation uses a fixed table, three balls per game, and the scoring and protection rules described above. These settings belong to this version. Physical Pinball machines have their own rules and may offer features such as multiball, extra ball rewards, or nudging the cabinet to influence the ball. Those features are not included here.
Think of it as an approachable online Pinball table focused on reading the ball’s path and timing your shots, rather than an exact recreation of a particular machine.
